TOPICS
- The Human Transformation Study (HTS) is a research field that explores
the diversity of change and transformation throughout human life. In addition
to conducting studies on education from viewpoints of philosophy and history
of thought as theoretical research, we also conduct field researches using
methods such as interview, participant observation, and "Ethnometry"
as practical research.
- In FY2019, we attempted to measure and analyze the effects of practice
at mother and child protection facilities and nursing homes using the newly
developed "ethnometry method" for measuring behavior from the
viewpoint of the practitioners. In the future, we plan to gradually expand
the survey target while brushing up this measurement method. From FY2020
onward, we are in the process of brushing up this measurement method and
gradually expanding the survey targets. I have been involved in the joint
research project "Practical Development of Moral Education Methods
to draw out Various Sensitivities by Applying Staging Techniques to Questioning
and Role-playing" (PL.: Rengyo) (JSPS) as sub-researcher, and I am
currently working on a joint research project ntiteled "Verification
of the Usefulness and Validity of the Ethonometry Method through its Application
to the Analysis of Moral Education Classes" (PL. Nobuo Fujikawa)(JSPS).

- Prof. Noriyuki Yamauchi (Kobe Women's University), who is one of my junior
colleagues, has published a book entitled "A Collection of Slightly
Unusual Principal's Ceremonial Speeches: Messages from a Philosopher of
Education" (Ichigeisha). He comes from a field that is often thought
to be the furthest away from the practice of educational philosophy, and
I think how happy the students at schools with such "unusual"
principal are. I hope you will read this book.
